We are an Independent commercial vehicle repair workshop based in Poole, Dorset.
Company History.
In brief, you should know the following about us: our company was established in 1995 by the founder Mike Moss. Mike served his apprenticeship at Bovington Camp working on military vehicles and worked his way to City & Guilds standard. Having a keen interest in heavy commercial vehicles he then went on to work for The Rowe Group and British Road Services (BRS) as a mechanic and workshop foreman, gaining extensive experience in heavy commercial vehicles. When BRS closed their workshop in Poole Mike decided it was time to start up his own business.
The business now employs 3 Technicians including Mike and a company secretary.

Commercial Vehicles.
Moss Commercials service & maintain commercial vehicles of all makes and sizes from car based vans like Transit Connects or Renault Kango through to large vehicles like Daf, Volvo, Mercedes Benz and Scania etc.
Over the years, dealing with all makes of vehicle we have gained a variety of experience and specialist equipment.
Trailers.
We can also maintain trailers of all sizes from small builders trailers and boat trailers, made by Brian James, Wessex Trailers and Indispension, to name a few, through to large semi trailers, made by Crane Fruehauf and Boalloy.
Trailer service can be carried out on site.
All of our Inspections are carried out to VOSA guidelines.
We can also carry out welding repairs, either at the workshop or on site, as well as small PVC curtain repairs.
Minibuses.
Moss Commercials can carry out Safety Inspections, servicing and repairs to all makes and size of minibus. We can arrange seat repairs and we also carry out minor body repairs.
All our Safety Inspections are carried out to VOSA guidelines. We also go one step further by advising and monitoring defects that we think will be a problem before or at the next Inspection.
MOT
We currently use 2 local MOT Testing Stations as we don’t have the space for an MOT Test Lane. To keep customer inconvenience at a minimum we don’t charge the customer for taking their vehicle to and from the test station.
Diagnostics.
At present Moss Commercials use Snap-On Solus Pro for diagnostics. This has excellent emissions coverage as well as ABS, air bags and service code re-sets.
Military Vehicles.
With Mikes’ background training of military vehicle repair we can undertake repairs or restoration on most military vehicles such as Daimler Ferret, Fox, Alvis Stalwart, Scorpion Tank etc.
We are already in the process of a complete restoration on a Daimler Ferret 1953.
Parts.
The majority of parts Moss Commercials buy come from local car and truck motor factors. Some items are main dealer only, but we are finding more and more parts available online.
While sourcing replacement parts we shop around for the best prices, but we bear in mind the need for good quality. We have found in the past that cheap can sometimes be expensive!
We will always give the customer the choice of main dealer or factor parts, as well as a used part price, especially if the vehicle is coming to the end of its’ life.
The Extra Service.
At Moss Commercials we realise the importance of vehicle downtime and customers own staff resources, so in most cases we can collect and deliver the vehicle from their premises.
Even though we don’t operate a dedicated late shift we will work late to get a customers vehicle back on the road, if they require.
Also customers can book vehicles in for ‘out of hours’ work in advance if they wish.
Valeting.
Whilst the vehicle is in the workshop, we can offer a valeting service. This can include steam cleaning, Interior & exterior cleaning and upholstery shampooing
